Thank you, Deborah. I'm not "religious" either. Sandpaper people isn't mine. I borrowed the term. It's been in use for years. Hope to see you on Scenes from the Evolution soon.

Yes, looking forward to that! I didn't mean to imply that you are religious. I just meant that I am not. I actually grew up in a strict, fundamentalist church which I left in my 20's, after living in the USSR. Went to a bible college before that. My uncle was a televangelist. So... I had enough religion to last several lifetimes! ;-)
I was raised Catholic. Left for Protestant churches (Vineyard) when I moved to California. Did a stint in an Eastern Orthodox seminary, planted Vineyards for a while, the settled down in Paradise, CA to co-pastor a Protestant church with, of all things, and Irish Catholic priest. Now that I live in Russia, I'm kind of like you... I devote my own time to God at home.
Russia was so different when I was there. There was a lot of burgeoning interest in religion, but most people were still atheists and laughed at the religious people. Now most of the western religions have been kicked out of Russia, and the ROC has reclaimed its place as the dominant religion. And most Russians I know are Orthodox. Very few atheists. I guess you could call me agnostic, but that wouldn't be exactly true. All I can say is that after a lifetime of learning, I still don't have it all figured out :)

Though I find most Russians are Orthodox, we have a good number of Catholics here in Crimea. I agree on atheists. We are never finished learning :)
True about learning. There is far too much to take it all in! But we do our best. Crimea is beautiful. Regis Tremblay is your neighbor ;-)
Yes. Regis is in Yalta. I am about 17 km from him.
Beautiful area.
Hey Deborah - did Jeff invite you to Sunday’s Scenes from the Evolution video stream?
I didn't see anything. I sent you a message in gmail about it.
